The Golden Lion is a Freehouse where tradition, history and locally brewed ales blend together for a unique experience that is sadly lost in many chain owned pubs, and as we happen to be in that fortunate situation we can offer real ales from various breweries, although they seldom come from further away than 50 miles we have been known to slip in a big brewery now and again.

Our offerings consist of real ales, lagers, ciders and wines and with the need for an alcohol free offering these days we stock wine, cider, lager and beers to tickle any alcohol free taste.

Gluten free beers are also to be had if that is your particular need and a huge offering of soft drinks with or without fizz available, mulled wine both alcoholic and non-alcoholic grace the bar at Christmas and our Gin, Rum and Whiskey ranges are extensive with matching mixers of all varieties, we really have something for everyone
